Exam 70-441: PRO: Designing Database Solutions by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005

Today I passed 70-441: PRO: Designing Database Solutions by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 exam, this time with a score of 950. Here are some notes about it:
– It has 56 questions.
– 6 testlets.
– Each testlet, which is actually a scenario based set of questions, covers from 5 to 12 questions.
– Each scenario consists of sections like: BACKGROUND, EXISTING ENVIRONMENT, BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS and TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS.
– Scenario texts are not that short and full of specific requirements which may confuse you while looking for a solution to a design problem asked.
– You can view scenario sections anytime while answering questions.
– Each testlet has its own time limit, which tests your design capabilities under stress. 😀
… and very very important note to the ones who plan to take this exam after only going throuh testking, actualtests or similar products: IT’S BEEN UPDATED!!! 🙂
So, you may come across at least 2 different questions from each testlet. Keep that in mind! 😉

I didn’t use any books. I studied MOC 2781 & 2782. Also, I solved testking questions. However, they are not up-to-date.

Well, I’ve just checked it and it says 08/28/2006. So, yes, maybe I used an old one. So, what is the last version now out there for 70-441 and 70-442?

it looks like there is version from 2007-01-19, can you confirm, that this version is also obsolete ?

I just passed 70-441 today with 983/1000. Not too bad… I had 6 testlets and 56 questions which include 6 descriptions of case study and 50 actual questions.
1. A. Datum Corporation – 12
2. Woodgrove Bank – 5
3. Trey Research – 6
4. Consolidated Messenger – 13
5. Southridge Video – 8
6. Coho Vineyard&Winery – 12
Please note: there are some updated questions. Do not just ready ActualTest. If you do, you must miss some questions in the exam.

I missunderstood the stucture of the exam, it is just cases and answers to those cases or there are more general questions as well. because I bought a doucument and I found just cases includes 110 questions

Okay, I thought I would give myself a couple of weeks break before studying again. I also thought that I would tackle 445 & 446 after the DBA stuff. Well I guess I had 2 good days of glee and basking in the warmth of the good feelings coming from getting through 431, 443 & 444.
I noticed that there is a new certification from Microsoft. Microsoft Certified Master:SQL Server. That sounds just so sexy!!!
All it needs is 441 & 442 plus the experience that I already have. So, I guess my dream of taking a break has just been put on hold. I will be following discussions in this forum closely and hopefully I will be one of many MC Masters coming out of Ziegler’s stable.

Yes, it does sound interesting as it is still a certification that anyone can sponsor. However, not only does it require the tests, but also 3 weeks of training/labs that are give only in Washington. Not to mention that the training costs are $18,500 not including travel/lodging. My employer sponsors 1 Microsoft Certified Master and 1 Microsoft Certified Architect in SQL and Exchange per year. I have my fingers crossed with SQL.
